Debashis Guha

He Post Graduated in Film Editing from Film & Television Institute of India Pune in 1989.

He has directed and produced various kinds of Fiction films, documentaries and TV genres, both fiction and nonfiction.

He has directed and edited two international documentaries called ‘Paira thake Chhaya’ (2005) and Shadows of Forgotten Melodies (2006) for NHK, Japan.

He has edited many national & international award winning films, documentaries in all the formats since 1989.

He has also worked asst. directors & editor with well known filmmaker like Shyam Benegal (Discovery of India, 1989), Mani Kaul (Nazar, 1991 & Idiot, 1992), Ketan Mehta (Sardar Patel, 1993), Kundan Shah (Kabhi Hain Kabhi Nain, 1993), Bidhu Binod Chopra (1942: A Love Story, 1994), Arun Kaul (Diksha, 1991).

He has worked as an editor (India) in ‘Night Fall’ (35mm Feature) based on a novel by Isaac Asimov, directed by Gyenith Gibby (Hollywood) in 1999, a Indo-Hollywood production by Mr.Roger Corman & Ramoji Rao.

 

Co- directed with Director Goutam Ghosh, a documentary film project on development of Asian Rural Women from countries like India, Nepal, China, Vietnam and Laos funded & conducted by IFAD, a NGO Organisation based in Italy, in the year of 2003. He has directed the Nepal part.
